It was Mia’s understanding that having a big country meant being very, very, very busy. That’s what she had come to learn from watching her elder sister work to establish the Kingdom of Greenland as its own independent nation. There was business to conduct, papers to sign, and many other big countries to meet. Mia, in retrospect, was still so very new, but she did none of these things. Perhaps it was because she was still small, she assumed. After all, of the few times she also met bigger countries (usually by sitting in on Liluuna’s meetings), she was hardly something focused on. Her sister introduced her as Kongeriget Elleore, some nice compliment was sometimes given, and that was as far as any discussion of the micronation went. Maybe someday she would be big enough to get to talk other countries, too, like Luunie did.
When it came to the Greenlander going to England for a meeting, it was a guarantee she would bring the child as usual. Mia never left her side, the very idea of the woman going anywhere without her was laughable to those who knew the sisters well. For that reason, Mia assumed it would be like any other previous meeting. Meet with personifications, wave hello, sit quietly while the grownups talked about… whatever it was grownups liked discussing so much. But, this time the plans changed. As it would turn out, England kept a child at his house as well, one that she had heard was named Peter. The boy was roughly the same in age as her, from her understanding, and so it was decided she would probably prefer his company over trying to keep from getting restless or bored.
While the adults talked, the children could be children.
That was what led Mia to where she was now, her sister kissing her cheek and and setting her down in the playroom she had taken her to. Her dress was smoothed out, the bow in her hair was fixed, and a reminder to play nicely was given before the elder sister left, as well as a promise that she would be back soon. Mia’s mind clung to that promise; she had to trust Liluuna wasn’t leaving her for good, either.
Now without her guardian, the little girl turned to face the other occupant of the room. He must have been Peter, she assumed. She watched him carefully, her eyes judging his appearance to be one that was harmless. Holding the doll she had brought with her closely, she gave a small wave, but otherwise did nothing to greet him
Peter wasn't very versed on what goes on with being a 'big' nation. All he knew was it meant his big brother, Arthur, had to meet with a lot of new people. Which meant little Peter had to come along with him...normally he wouldn't have minded too much. Any chance to spend with big brother was great! But, usually these meetings meant Peter was sitting alone with his stuffed yellow bear. Peter wanted to follow Arthur and sit with him, but the man said he was too young. Or it wasn't his place to sit in on boring meetings, and to just have fun while the adults talked. Which is how he was left to sit in the occupying room, which had a few toys to entertain him. Or sometimes he'd be left in 'big brother' Alwyn's care, which was fun too, since the man was nice and gave him treats.
Today though, Alwyn was busy and Peter was told he'd have a new playmate. Which, unlike most would have thought, quite terrified him. He'd never spoken or interacted with other little nations his age, so the fact he was going to meet someone else like him...was a little daunting. But his big brother said not to worry, that all he had to do was be polite and share. Once Arthur had set him down, and gave him his favorite rabbit, the man had left with a promise to get him once it was over. Then Peter, being a good boy, waited anxiously for the new person to show up. Which hadn't been a very long wait, because a few minutes after his big brother left, the door opened. Sitting at the small round table, and 'Winnie' sitting on his lap, the blonde boy hugged it close as he looked up and inspected the new comer.
Peter wasn't sure what he was expecting, maybe someone intimidating...or loud. But the girl that was standing there looked okay, and didn't look like she wanted to hurt him. At her wave, he hid behind 'Winnie' and waved back. "E-Ewo..." his voice was very quiet, but he had to be polite. Big brother said to be play nice...but would she like playing? Peter liked playing with his stuffed animal friends, but girls liked different dolls didn't they? It was quiet for a few moments...before he too notice of the doll in her arms, he pointed at it. "You...wike pwaying too?" Perhaps this girl liked tea parties with stuffed animal friends too? Maybe he could show her Pooh the Swan, Pooh-Swan didn't join for tea often...mostly because Peter liked Winnie a little more. Looking down, and remembering what big brother Alwyn taught him he looked over shyly and asked."You..want to pway with Winnie and me?"
