Hushed whispered began traveling around, words repeated from meetings with the Italians and those they said in private. The nation with a bird perched on his shoulder seemed to be the one always saying a little birdie told him while giving off his signature laugh. Some might question of the small bird was secretly a spy for the elder of the German brothers but no one seemed able to confirm anything underhanded was happening. The albino was not the one sitting on the throne of the Reich, Germany sat controlling the world while his elder brother seemed to merely be perched on the arm rest pretending to have an ounce of power. It was known that the Prussia held the position of dealing with a certain nation but otherwise seemed to be nothing more than the pet of Germany. The idea that Prussia was nothing more than a brother kept around only due to family relations never seemed to be aided in the fact he was often missing from any meeting. Many were not sure if the brothers discussed what was said in the meetings.
Having set warning to the Italians a week ago he made his journey for a visit keeping the small yellow bird perched in his hair as he hummed a soft tune. Perhaps Prussia was too arrogant to notice the suffering of other or turned a blind eye to it all believing it be better off ignoring. Few believed he allowed the death that surrounded them to bother him, death was just another day to a nation. Stroking the bird keeping it content as he arrived to his destination. Having spent much of his walk from the train whispering calming words to the bird that seemed to be attempting to hide in his hair as if afraid of what they were walking into. Cooing at the bird a final time Gilbert knocked on the door expecting Feliciano and Lovino to have prepared for him ample enough.
Knocking a second time he gave a loud call his voice cracking as it always seemed to do with the strain he put on his voice as he seemed to yell every word. “You can’t keep my awesome vaiting too long!” As expected a loud "Kesesese," followed the statement.
Visiting the two brothers there were only letters speaking of being far too bored being kept sitting around waiting for Ludwig to desire to do something, to take land or visit another nation. It would appear Gilbert was known to travel around the land owned by the Reich or find himself spending time at Kiku’s side for endless amount of time when Ludwig seemed to be far too focused on improving the empire instead of continuing to collect land before anyone could manage to get support to rise against him. Feliciano and Lovino had been among the nations that albino didn’t seem to find himself able to visit often enough, or so he claimed in his letter to them. Years has passed since anyone saw the elder the Germans as being a threat. Land from Germany was given over to keep the Prussian around so long as the Reich remained, his brother kept his from having the fate that was deserving of nations that no longer held power.

News of Gilbert's visit had very much surprised Feliciano, usually it was Ludwig that one would expect come, a visit from his elder brother in Feliciano's eyes was very rare and to be honest, it was quite an honor. He saw Gilbert as a good friend of his, though the frequency of meeting each other had decreased quite low to the point where months would go by before either had talked. Feliciano would never forget Gilbert's assistance in helping him unify Italy, the Italian considered the Prussian as an excellent influence to others and of course a hero in his eyes, Feliciano was in debt to Gilbert for his assistance back then.
But what now? These days Gilbert's power had decreased to the point that he was overshadowed by his brother Germany. It was Ludwig that controlled Europe and practically the world, the German wielded much of the world's power it was frightening, but what of Prussia? What role did Gilbert play in the post war order? Feliciano already knew his role, the Germans had made sure of that, however he was determined to escape this position of a glorified German puppet. His efforts however only seemed to have failed in the peace conference, he had felt betrayed by Germany then, the fact that Italian influence in the world was incredibly tiny made Feliciano suspicious and in constant fear.... When will Germany or Britain turn on him? Both powers had Italy at their mercy, they could practically bend Feliciano to their will and he would be powerless to stop them. This possibility gave him little confidence in Axis unity in the post war.
Perhaps Gilbert would be more accommodating toward Italy? Feliciano hoped so, however he didn't expect Gilbert to be able to do much from his position in the German empire. Lovino and little Lucia were out, it seemed that his little sister had wanted to visit her own little country, leaving Feliciano alone with Gilbert. Feliciano himself was not against this idea at all, though it would have been nice if all of his family had been here for this meeting, in any case Gilbert would have to deal with only meeting him. Hearing knocking on his door, Feliciano clumsily awoke from his siesta and got off the couch regretting to have to leave it, almost giving a sign of the younger Italian's laziness on days when he was far less militaristic in the past. Perhaps people didn't really change after all? Feliciano quickly went to open the door, hoping that Gilbert didn't exactly mind the little wait.
"Sorry for being keeping you waiting! I was having a little lie down..."
Normally Feliciano would have had his siesta in bed, but with Gilbert arriving he realized that this would give him problems such as having to put his clothes all back on again. As such the less comfortable couch would have to supplement for today. After the incident in Ethiopia, he had been forced off the front lines for fear that his mental health had declined rapidly, ever since then, Feliciano found he was less stressed and was starting to retain some of his former characteristics such as singing, lazing around and although not as much as before produce very small smiles back. That wasn't the say he was completely healed, his temper was still short and he was no less violent than before, but Feliciano seemed to take the form of a more calmer man but arguably more violent man.
He wore his normal blue military uniform without the blue jacket as he usually had. He looked a little tired and messy from his siesta but seemed a little cheerful surprisingly to see Gilbert. Giving a small and tired smile he rubbed his eye and looked up at the slightly taller man.
"I hope you weren't waiting for too long, that would be terrible."
Having lost control seemed to have little effect on how anyone view the Prussian, his visits weren’t that common even when he traveled with Ludwig. Some might question what kept the albino busy enough that it was rare to hear word of him unless relations were close enough to earn you letters from the nation but it was unknown if anyone found their name on a mailing list. The rare visits seemed to always mean there were plenty of topics to speak on, catching up to do with a nation that had plenty of time to complete projects that might have only been began during their last communication. Perhaps his rare visits brought some hope to some nations, it was unlikely but Gilbert did enjoy musing over the idea that his visits were a pleasant surprise for some. If he were to guess he figured Feliciano didn’t view his visits as something negative, if only he knew the reason behind this visit.
Uniting with Germany to create unified Germany and lead to the formation of the Reich seemed to leave too much in the air for the role that Gilbert would hold. Claiming he was confident in his role would be a far more than just a simple lie. Ludwig claimed the elder as his right hand man, the second in command but there was some doubt to these promising words. In a way he could be seen as even less than Feliciano or the nations under the German Reich, he held no power no purpose, and no land of his own. Everything that could be seen as Prussian was now under German control. It was a wonder if Ludwig was all that allowed Gilbert to live, if he stripped away his title would the albino nation fade away? Being a chess piece still on the board it was clear that he has yet to lose his role in all of this but there was a chance he would change his role. Not everyone could live out every day unsure if they are a knight or a pawn.
Having no military power did not mean Gilbert lost his battle strategies, he was a nation born for war. Two letters had been sent out. One letter had been addressed to the Italian Empire warning of his visit but another addressed simply to Lovino. A simple letter requesting he spend time away from home during his visit, making it clear he had important matters that would need to be addressed by Feliciano as he held the power while Lovino was similar to himself. Lovino surely would enjoy time away from his younger brother, it was clear their relationship was not that of equality. If Feliciano found value in Lovino’s opinions it was well hidden. The elder brother seemed more of a burden if Gilbert were honest.
“Nein, no need for apologizes! You could have viated so ve could lie together,” a taunting wink was given.
Not waiting to be invited inside the taller man welcomed himself inside wrapping an arm around Feliciano bringing the brunette to follow along. There was a loud laugh, it seemed nothing ever bothered Gilbert even in times of war he could be seen acting gleeful. “I have been vaiting too long, but not at your door. There is something ve need to speak about.” There was little warning given before Feliciano’s back was forced into a wall.
“Are the rumors true? Do you think you can turn on Ludvig?” His breath was against the shell of the Italian’s ear and the cheerful voice had dropped into a low growl. “Let’s make one thing clear, turn on Vest and your nev position will be licking my boot.” Leaning forward his lips pressed against the pale skin of the Italian’s throat as if making his intentions ever more clear. “Behave and I vill help you take land in Africa maybe even England if he misbehaves.”
