It was odd to say that he was sneaking his way to go somewhere, especially in the middle of the day. He’d left long before morning had come, but this was the best time. He’d known that Northern Italy was going to be gone for the day. This was good because he wanted to speak with Southern Italy alone. Now that he’d fully committed to making the choice to join the Reich, he wanted to start claiming what he believed to be the next important thing on his agenda.
It had been a long time coming, but Berwald wanted a family. Tino and him had been working hard to establish themselves and keep their neutrality during the war. Because of this, they weren’t making any large decisions when it came to seeking out more opportunities for the growth or expansion of their nation. That was best left to those that were warring. Now that everything was settled, it was time to turn their attention back to expansion. Since they were on such an opportunistic side of the powers of the world, they should make big decisions with ease.
He'd had his eyes on a few for a while but he was still making up his mind. It wasn’t a question that Tino wanted their family to be whole as well. Berwald was looking for a child to take home and raise as their own. Lovino may have been able to help him with this prospect but considering the nature of expansion and his current delicate situation with what he was doing…and hiding from.. he wanted to keep this away from Feliciano’s sights. He was too close to his cousin Germany and he knew that Ludwig was already suspicious. There wasn’t any more reason to rock the boat.
So, when Berwald arrived at Lovino’s home that day he’d knocked on the door and straightened his tie. His digits pushed up the frames of his glasses and adjusted them to the glare of the sun. He wasn’t wearing anything unusual, business suit and slacks. He didn’t want it to seem too formal but didn’t want it to seem like he was just here to chat either. There was a business to deal with here and he wanted to get things moving as quickly as possible. When the door was opened Berwald opened his mouth to greet him but nothing came out. He looked over the state of the nation he saw. From head to toe, this man looked like he was broken. Things were worse than he originally thought over here. Without delaying much longer Berwald greeted him. “Halla, Lovino….Do you have time to speak with me?” He got straight to the point. It must have been odd to see a Nordic this way.

If it wasn't for the knocks on the door, it would've been a perfect day.
Feliciano was out of the country for another meeting, so it was just Lovino and his little sister once more. They woke up and enjoyed some time playing with some dolls that the little girl made up clearcut stories with, dramatizing it all with hints of relationship dramas which included who ate the pudding in the fridge and which movies they wanted to watch, along with Lucia telling her older brother which words to say and when. The elder Italian often found himself wondering to himself if this so happened to be a real life scenario, how he would've ditched such demanding girl after a mere five minutes. Of course, he couldn't do so in the fantasy world little Lucia created, so he just went along and repeated the phrases she would ask him to say in his part of playing the, in Lovino's opinion, dumb boyfriend with no brains to think with. It almost concerned Lovino, figuring this was what his little micronation thought of was the norm of men, but decided to put the blame on the television shows that aired often these days. Perhaps he needed to look into what exactly the propaganda aimed for when it came to kids programming these days; knowing his clown of a boss, it couldn't be anything pretty.
After two whole hours of playing in the muddy relationship drama as the role of the idiotic boyfriend, Lovino decided it was time to feed them both, and settled with seafood pasta with the frozen clams, shrimp and squid he found stocked in the freezer. The two finished their meal in a relatively respectful amount of time, and then it was time for the five-year-old to be put down for a nap. Not that Lovino forced his sister into the schedule if she wanted to stay up and watch movies instead, but it seemed the two-hour long playtime he provided and stuck around with for her was enough to tire her out, making her in need of a power nap anyway. A short storybook was read, and when Lucia finally fell asleep, he tucked her in and finally moved to the living room after closing the door to her room. He stretched and was about to lay down on the couch for his own relaxation when the door was knocked on, and Lovino couldn't help but to glare in the direction of the front door. He wasn't expecting anybody... Who could it be?
Pulling up the collar of his polo shirt to instinctively attempt to cover the more visible and persistent bruises on his neck and cheeks, Lovino made his way over to the entrance and opened the door, where he peeked out at first before he widened the opening slightly more once seeing who was standing on the other side.
"...? Feliciano's not-..." He started, figuring that was who the other nation would likely want to speak to, when he was interrupted.
"Halla, Lovino….Do you have time to speak with me?"
Lovino's eyes widened curiously before he nodded after a pause and stepped aside for Berwald to step in. What was there to discuss?
"...Just do me a favor and keep your voice down; I just put my sister down for a nap. What the hell do you want, anyway?"
